The Role
We are looking for an experienced, analytical, collaborative, solution-oriented Sr. Manager to oversee and lead the overall Fraud function of our digital consumer lending business. You will play a crucial role to help Fig grow safely, by detecting and preventing financial crimes, and minimizing losses while creating seamless customer experiences and ensuring regulatory requirements are met.

What you'll do

  • Lead the fraud prevention strategy for Fig, including managing the various detection systems, tools, and processes to effectively manage suspicious activities and trends in real time.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve fraud management processes and awareness across the org, including collaborating with risk, customer experience, product, partnerships, engineering, operations, compliance teams, as well as other partners and vendors, as required.
  • Develop and monitor fraud metrics and KPIs, providing actionable insights to improve controls and reduce fraud loss, and keep a pulse on fraud performance, risks, and strategic recommendations.
  • Execute up-to-date and continuous enhancements of controls, processes, and detection systems for fraud prevention, and alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Manage investigations of fraud cases and oversee resolution while minimizing customer friction and operational impact; Leverage automated processes & tools to monitor, detect, analyze, report, and prevent fraud.
  • Stay updated on emerging fraud trends and technologies, leveraging insights to continuously enhance anti-fraud measures.
  • Develop and manage a high-performing team, including hiring, coaching, and professional development of fraud analysts and managers.
  • Advocate for customer-centric fraud solutions, balancing fraud prevention with a seamless customer experience.
  • Support digital ID verification, KYC, AML, ATF processes in line with Fig’s processes, legislative requirements and industry best practices.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 5+ years of experience in Fraud, preferably in a financial services, FinTech, and/or lending company.
  • 2+ years of experience in managing people.
  • Working knowledge of Fraud monitoring systems, tools, and techniques.
  • Strong analytical & problem solving skills with experience in data analysis, data visualization, and investigations for Fraud.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and clients (both written & oral)
  • Team player who can collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Self-starter with solid time management and organization skills who thrives working independently in a fast-paced environment.

What'd be nice to have

  • Familiarity or experience with KYC and AML and regulatory requirements & reporting (Candidate will be trained as required to also support KYC, AML, ATF in line with Fig’s processes, legislative requirements and industry best practices).
  • Fluency in French.
  • Results-focused; process & detail oriented.
