HomeEquity Bank is establishing a new division to launch a technology-first solution into the market. The division will be developed and built over the next year. It will be entrepreneurial, innovative, and customer-centric in its approach, with a strategic objective that addresses the unique needs of everyday Canadians. The new division is backed by industry-leading organizations, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (“OTPP”) and its venture studio, Koru.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Product Designer will play a pivotal role in shaping the new division. In this multifaceted role, you'll delve into user interface design, design system development, web design, and supporting marketing in the creation of visual assets.

Your mission will be to craft intuitive, engaging experiences informed by conducting customer research in collaboration with our growth, engineering, product, and business teams. Beyond the realm of product design, you'll extend your expertise to support marketing and broader design initiatives, playing a key role in driving the growth, evolution and success of the new product and division.

MAJOR ELEMENTS OF THE ROLE

Key accountabilities of this position include:

• Conduct user research and synthesize findings into artifacts like personas, storyboards, process flows, user journey mapping and sitemaps
• Identify areas of improvement or growth alongside Product and Business leadership
• Sketch, mockup, and prototype product, experience and service designs that solve user and business problems
• Develop and maintain a robust design system
• Ensure design quality and provide production-ready designs
• Support marketing with ad, web and other visual design
• Own the end-to-end design process for the product

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Qualifications

• 6+ years in product design, UX design, design research, or related disciplines
• Experience building and shipping production software
• Experience working in cross-functional teams
• Nice to have: Fintech or financial product experience
